Opened in 1993 and continuously expanded, Waterbom Bali sits on a lush tropical site just 10 minutes from Kuta Beach and the airport. The park is laid out around a central lazy river with mature shade trees, frangipani gardens and over 22 water slides ranging from gentle family rides to hair-raising near-vertical drops.

Beyond the slides, Waterbom is built around a strong sustainability ethos — it's the first carbon-neutral certified water park in the world, with on-site water treatment, banned single-use plastics, and a commitment to keeping mature trees in place even when expanding the park footprint.

It's the rare Bali attraction that genuinely caters to every age: toddlers have the Funtastic kids' play zone with mini-slides and a giant tipping bucket; thrill-seekers have Climax (a near-vertical 16-metre drop), Smashdown 2.0 and Superbowl; and parents can park themselves on a rented daybed in the gardens with a cocktail and Wi-Fi.

Visitor Tips

  • Buy tickets online in advance — you'll save money and skip the ticket queue.
  • Bring (or buy) reef-safe sunscreen — strong tropical sun and reflective water make burns easy.
  • Wear board shorts or a one-piece — long zips and metal studs aren't allowed on most slides.
  • Leave valuables at your hotel; if you must bring a phone or wallet, rent a locker on arrival.
  • Children under 120 cm cannot ride the major slides but have plenty to do in the kids' zone.
  • Combine with the airport — Waterbom is 10 minutes from DPS and is a great late-departure-day plan.
