Is the Ubud Monkey Forest safe?

Generally yes, if you follow the rules: don't tease the monkeys, hide food and bags, remove sunglasses (monkeys take them), don't make direct eye contact. Monkeys can scratch or bite if provoked. Staff are on hand at all times.

What is the entry fee for the Monkey Forest?

IDR 80,000 for adults, IDR 60,000 for children (approx. USD 5/3.50). Open daily 9am–6pm. The fee supports the sanctuary's conservation work.

How long should I spend at the Monkey Forest?

60–90 minutes is enough to walk all the paths, visit the temples and have several monkey encounters. Early morning (before 10am) is least crowded.
