Bali Airport Guide 2026 — Ngurah Rai (DPS)

Ngurah Rai International Airport (IATA: DPS) is Bali's only commercial airport, situated in Tuban just 2 km south of Kuta Beach. It handles more than 24 million passengers a year (a record 23.6 million in 2024) and connects Bali directly to Australia, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Dubai, Amsterdam and London.

Before You Arrive: the Bali Tourist Levy (2024 onward)

Every foreign visitor must pay a one-time Bali Tourist Levy of IDR 150,000 (about USD 10) per person, per visit. Pay online before you fly via the official Love Bali platform (lovebali.baliprov.go.id) or app, save the QR-code voucher, and keep it handy — officials may check it at the airport or attractions. Payment is also possible at counters in the terminal on arrival. The levy is separate from your visa.

Arriving at Bali Airport: Step by Step

1

Disembark & Follow Signs to Immigration

After landing, follow signs through the air bridge or bus to the terminal and then to Immigration Control. Well signposted in English.

2

Visa on Arrival or e-Gate

Most visitors need a Visa on Arrival (VoA), costing IDR 500,000 (about USD 32), payable by card or cash. The fastest option is the e-VOA bought online at evisa.imigrasi.go.id a few days before you fly, letting you clear immigration at the automated e-gates. Otherwise, join the VoA counter queue before the main immigration desks. The VoA is valid 30 days, extendable once for another 30.

3

Immigration Control

Present your passport and visa. On busy days, queues can last 30–90 minutes during peak season.

4

Baggage Claim

Collect your bags from the carousels. Conveyor belt numbers are displayed on screens in the arrivals hall.

5

Customs Declaration (Electronic)

Indonesia uses an electronic customs declaration (e-CD). Complete it online within three days before arrival at ecd.beacukai.go.id and show the QR code at customs. Pass through the green or red channel — random X-ray checks are common.

6

Arrivals Hall & Transport

Exit into the arrivals hall. Your hotel driver should have a name board. Use the official taxi counter or the designated Grab/Gojek pick-up zone outside.
