Sekumpul Waterfall is widely considered the most spectacular waterfall in Bali — a cluster of around seven separate cascades that thunder up to 80 metres down a lush jungle canyon in the northern hills near Singaraja. Reaching the base is a genuine adventure: a guided trek descends hundreds of steps and crosses a river, sometimes wading knee-deep, before you arrive at the natural amphitheatre of falls, where the spray hangs in the air and the roar is deafening. Most visitors combine Sekumpul with the neighbouring Fiji Waterfall on the same trail. Because it is a long way from the south — around two to three hours each way — it is best done as a full-day trip or an overnight stay in the north.
