About Melasti Beach

Melasti is the Bukit's beach-club beach — a wide white-sand bay accessed by a spectacular switchback road carved into the limestone. Minoa Beach Club, Karma Beach and Palmilla all sit on the sand here, making it one of the few Bukit beaches where you can actually have a proper day-bed-and-cocktails experience without climbing back up a cliff at sunset.

How to get to Melasti Beach

  • From Ngurah Rai Airport — About 50 minutes (27 km) by car to Ungasan, then down the famous switchback road to the sand.
  • By scooter or car — Unlike most Bukit beaches you can drive almost to the sand — no long staircase.
  • By private driver — A popular sunset stop after Uluwatu Temple and the Kecak dance.

Yes — the reef-sheltered shallows near the beach clubs are calm and good for swimming, making Melasti one of the few truly swimmable beaches on the Bukit.

Is there an entry fee for Melasti Beach?

A small entry fee of around IDR 10,000 per person is collected on the road in, plus a few thousand rupiah for parking. Beach clubs charge separately via a minimum spend or day-bed credit.
