About Sanur Beach

Sanur is Bali's family beach — a long reef-protected lagoon where the water is always calm, the sunrise is spectacular and traditional fishing jukung outriggers line the sand. A 5 km paved promenade runs the length of the beach, stitching together breakfast warungs, beach clubs, jetties and the fast boat terminal for Nusa Penida and the Gili Islands.

Things to do at Sanur Beach

  • Sunrise watch — East-facing, so Sanur is one of the few Bali beaches with classic sunrise views — 5:45 AM in dry season.
  • Paddleboard or kayak the lagoon — Calm reef-protected water makes Sanur ideal for SUP and kayak rentals (IDR 100k/hr).
  • Cycle the beach path — Bike rentals from any Sanur warung — the 5 km paved path is the easiest cycle in Bali.
  • Day trip to Nusa Lembongan — Fast boats from Sanur jetty every 30 min — 25-min crossing.
